Discover the Power of Kambo

Through my Kambo practice, I've witnessed the energetic and emotional transformation that Kambo brings to the people I have the honor to serve. I want to share with you the potential benefits I've seen from my experience serving Kambo.

Pre-Ayahuasca Kambo Ceremony

Coming to Orlando, Florida, for your Ayahuasca ceremony experience? Come a day earlier and sit with Kambo. Kambo is a shamanic detox that helps the body restore its natural balance and helps boost your immune system, building resilience and mental toughness. Kambo can help cleanse energetic blockages and align your mind, body, and spirit to open you up with the potential to enhance your Ayahuasca experience.

I get asked a lot this question: " Can Kambo cure this disease or health condition? "

The short answer is NO.
As a practitioner, I cannot tell you that Kambo will cure you. There is much more into answering this question than just saying " yes, it can". I am not a doctor obviously and cannot make such statement. There are a lot of factors and circumstances to consider and the most important and often underestimated is the part that YOU play in your own healing.
Kambo is not a cure for it all, or a magic treatment. It is an ordeal medicine that will need your energy and effort to not only go through the process but to get the best out of it.
It is easy to take a pill and wait for the symptoms to go away not doing anything on your end, change of diet, lifestyle, etc... to make a permanent change.
Remember, it is YOU who makes this happen; your intention and willingness to do whatever it takes to take back control of your body. You meet the frog half way, not only in enduring the process, testing your resilience but also doing your part to balance back your life, making the diet and lifestyle changes to be in harmony in mind, body and spirit.

About Kambo

Kambo is the name given to the waxy secretion of a tree frog that is used by the indigenous tribes to heal and strengthen the body, mind, and spirit. The scientific name for this frog is Phyllomedusa bicolor or “Two-Colored Leaf Guardian.”  It is also known as the “Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog.” This frog lives in the northwestern part of the Amazon Rainforest where the natives use it to gain strength, immunity, cure illnesses, aid in “hunting magic” and also to get rid of "panema” (bad luck).  Kambo is legal in the United States, as well as all other countries, and is not a hallucinogenic.  It is, however, a deep cleansing therapy – – physically, emotionally and mentally.  It is one of the world’s most effective and natural antibiotics and immune system boosters.  It detoxifies the liver and intestines, improves mental functioning, and has the potential to dissolve emotional blocks.  It also helps to reset our cellular memory.

Tribe hunters use Kambo to enhance their perception and sharpness, intention, and endurance. The tribes also use it to ward off the enemy, to rid one of laziness, lack of desire, sadness, mental, spiritual and physical weakness, low self-esteem and disharmony with nature. In the Amazon Rainforest, this secretion is known to bring happiness to those who take it, to bring luck, and to unblock and circulate the heart chakra among many other benefits.

Benefits of Kambo

Scientific studies show that Phyllomedusa bicolor secretion is made up of many peptides that are beneficial to the human body. Some of these peptides traverse the blood-brain barrier and stimulate the endocrine glands of the brain, resulting in an immune effect and a deep cleansing of the body.  Kambo has antibiotic properties and strengthens the immune system, while physically destroying pathogenic microorganisms. Kambo is traditionally known to be anti-inflammatory, to relieve joint pain, to heal eyesight, and to ease the pain. Kambo peptides, and their effects, are reported to cover a wide range of potential benefits: may help with brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, depression, migraines, blood circulation problems, vascular insufficiency, organ diseases, skin and eyes issues, cancer, fertility problems in women, AIDS, candida, hepatitis, herpes, and more.   Kambo enters the lymphatic system, waking up the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

The short-term effects of receiving Kambo can be enhanced resistance to tiredness, hunger, and thirst, an enhanced state of alertness, capacity to focus and still the mind. These effects can last for days or weeks. Long-term, Kambo will strengthen and empower the immune system, help overcome fatigue and increase overall well-being. People that regularly take Kambo very rarely get sick and have a lot of energy.

After people do Kambo, they often see massive energetic shifts in their lives, from dramatic improvements to their physical health, to a reduction in depression and addictions, to relief from chronic pain and major illnesses.

Kambo Peptides

The Science of Kambo

Kambo contains a variety of compounds and peptides, and some of them are still a mystery to science. But the ones that scientists have looked at closely seem to have special effects that are tied to the Kambo experience and how it affects people who use it.

What are Peptides? Peptides are like shorter cousins of proteins, made up of amino acids. They stick to cell surfaces and act like messengers, telling the cells to do things like release hormones or change their behavior, affecting everything from your mood and thoughts to muscle movements and digestion.
Phyllomedusin
A peptide that has a strong impact on your digestive system. It makes your intestines, bowels, salivary glands, and tear ducts go into action, helping to clean out your digestive system. It's also part of what makes you purge during your Kambo process, and also increases heart rate, heat flushing, and inflammation at location of burns.
Phyllokinin
It does some similar things like Phyllomedusin. It's good at opening up blood vessels and making your gut muscles contract. Plus, it helps lower blood pressure and increase blood vessel permeability. Some folks think it might also help other Kambo peptides get into the brain faster, but there's no scientific proof of that yet.
Phyllocaerulein
Found in the highest concentration, Phyllocaerulein is a key player in Kambo's main effects. It significantly impacts the smooth muscles in the gut, making them work harder, while also influencing bile flow and the release of pancreatic and gastric juices. Additionally, it contributes to pain relief in the central nervous system.
Sauvagine
It leads to a drop in blood pressure by widening the mesenteric vascular area ( Pancreas) and triggers strong tachycardia. In the central nervous system, it appears to activate the pituitary-adrenal axis, elevating levels of corticosterone, catecholamines (like adrenaline), and plasma glucose.
Phyllolitorins
Small bioactive peptides that stimulate gastric acid, pancreatic secretion, and smooth muscle contraction. In a study by Caitlin Thompson and Martin L. Williams, it was noted that Litorin can cause a short-term decrease in rats' body temperature by 0.9 °C, which might contribute to shivering and appetite suppression during the later stages of the Kambo experience.
Deltorpin and other Bioactive Peptide
It relieves pain and induces a sense of calm by interacting with brain receptors, potentially aiding individuals with drug dependence.

Dermaseptin
Including Adenoregulin, are part of a family of antimicrobial peptides that help defend the frogs' skin against microbial invaders. In laboratory studies, Adenoregulin has demonstrated the ability to not only inhibit various forms of cancer but also promote the healthy growth of blood vessels.Dermaseptin is also an antiviral for herpes simplex virus.
Antibacterial and AntiviralProperties
A lot of the peptides in Kambo are like bodyguards that protect the frog's skin from nasty fungi and germs. Scientists are also looking at these peptides to fight tough, drug-resistant bacteria and viruses, especially in people with weak immune systems, whether from health issues or immunodeficiency disorders.

HOW IS KAMBO HARVESTED

The Kambo I use is harvested by the Matses tribe.  The Matses live along the Javari River in the Upper Amazon, along with the border of Brazil and Peru, where the frogs are plentiful.  It is carefully and ethically harvested; the frogs are not harmed during the process. The frogs are located in 20-30 ft. trees near the Igarapés (rainforest waterways) where they gather to sing and announce the rain. They are generally harvested at dawn by the Matses who locate them by singing and imitating their songs. The frogs are very passive and do not react when picked up. They are carefully tied by each leg with Palia (straw) strips into an “X” shape. Sometimes a shaman will massage the toes to encourage the secretion which is then carefully scraped off and left to dry on small sticks.  The frogs are “milked” at appropriately-spaced intervals, so they never need to be poked or “smoked” in order to stimulate secretion. They are then released and return to their habitat unharmed. They are always treated with the utmost care and respect, as the Matses believe that to harm the frog will anger the animal spirits that they reside along within the jungle.  They have a deep respect and love for them, knowing they are our teachers and healers.  Kambo collected in this way is considered 100% ethically harvested.  The funds they raise are shared among the 14 communities (approximately 3,200 Matses) residing in their extensive homeland.  This Kambo is clean, always fresh, and only the first secretions, which are stronger, are utilized.  The frogs are also then left with sufficient secretion to defend themselves from predators.  Every stick is properly wrapped and stored.  You can always be sure that I only use the very best, ethically harvested, Kambo secretion.

WHEN TO USE KAMBO

The indigenous tribes say the main reason to receive Kambo is to remove ‘Panema’ which is the thick cloud of haziness that sits on top of the energy field of a person. ‘Panema’ can also be translated as bad luck, laziness, depression, or confusion.  It is the state of being that attracts discomfort and disease. Kambo is said to remove ‘Panema’ and bring the person back to his/her natural state of perfect harmony and highest physical, emotional and spiritual potential, reconnecting one to self.  According to the tribes, when nothing is going right in your life, it is the right moment to take Kambo.

As well as this energetic clearing effect, Kambo has potent physical benefits also. Kambo is used as a traditional shamanic cleanse to gain strength, maintain or regain health, and to provide immunity. The tribes, oftentimes, apply it before hunting, in order to increase strength, improve vision and lend the hunters a ‘magical’ ability to locate prey. It is also used to cleanse the body of just about any illness, such as headaches, allergies, thyroid problems, arthritis, infections, addiction to pharmaceuticals, drugs, nicotine, alcohol, and so on. The tribes also use it for rainforest specific issues.

In the Brazilian Caboclo tradition, the  recommendation is to receive 3 applications
of Kambo within one moon cycle (28 days) in order to achieve the full potential and for longer beneficial effects. This is a traditional guideline not a requirement however. You and I will sit down and talk about your current issues, intentions and goals for receiving Kambo to determine frequency of  applications if needed.

Some things to consider if you're thinking of receiving Kambo:

  • Why do you feel called to the frog?
  • What are your intentions?
  • What are you looking to release?

HISTORY OF KAMBO

The story about Kambo probably goes back a thousand years in the Kaxinawa tribe in Brazil. It has been told in many ways. According to the legend, there was a shaman named Kampu and he had an entire village to his care. One day people in the village started to fall ill and soon the entire village fell ill. Frustrated for not being able to help his tribe, Kampu went on an Ayahuasca solo journey in the middle of the jungle. Through his visions, he came upon how he was to call the frog, how he was going to extract the secretion from the frog and how he was going to apply it to his people. Returning to the tribe and following the guidelines that he had received Kampu was able to cure his people. It is believed after Kampu’s death, that his spirit went to live in the frog. So, Kambo is also known as the spirit of the shaman; ready to serve those seeking the healing power of Kambo also teaching us that we have the power to heal our selves when our bodies are in balance.

Kambo as a Heart Opener

“Kambo circulates in the heart. Our shaman said that when we take Kambo it makes the heart move accurately, so that things flow, bringing good things to the person. It is as if there was a cloud on the person, preventing the good things to come, then, when it takes the Kambo; it comes a ‘green light’ which opens its ways, making things easier”  Kaxinawa, Kambo Shaman

THE SPIRITUAL POWER OF KAMBO

KAMBO’S NATURAL INTELLIGENCE

On a spiritual level, Kambo helps to integrate our mind with our heart and re-align our chakras.  It is also believed that it assists us in raising our prayers to “The Great Spirit” and is a multi-dimensional healer.

In the shamanic worldview, we gain assistance from plant and animal spirit allies. In the case of Kambo, we are allying with the Spirit of a Frog that has a very strong immunity to predators. Some believe the Spirit of Phyllomedusa bicolor lends us a similar power of being nearly impervious to predatory energy – physically, mentally and energetically. As the DNA signature of the frog is introduced into our body, its Spirit gifts us with the power to cast off parasitic energies that prey on body, mind, and spirit. Once free of these energies, it is common to see natural health returned. Synchronicities and good luck are also a common effect after Kambo. Many people report having synchronistic visitations by frogs in the days just before or after receiving Kambo.

Kambo works with your intention and what is most needed at the moment. Upon receiving it, Kambo scans your body and goes where it’s most needed. Working with the Frog Spirit is a very personal relationship and will vary every time, depending upon your intention and what the spirit is calling for.

Kambo is an excellent way to prepare the mind and body for the effects of ayahuasca. It is said the purging process experienced during Kambo can help cleanse the body, so Ayahuasca can be absorbed more effectively. It also helps clear the energy and prepares the mind for the psychological effects of ayahuasca. The connection between Kambo and Ayahuasca is special – being that the spirit of ayahuasca is what, according to legend, brought about the knowledge of Kambo use and its incredible benefits. Here are four ways Kambo can enhance the effectiveness of the Ayahuasca experience. Receiving Kambo after an Ayahuasca experience helps clear emotional blockages residual from the ceremony, restores the body and clears the mind. People claim to experience more energy, and a balanced mental and emotional state after receiving and fully recovered from Kambo.

Pre-Kambo ceremonies are held on Thursday evenings before the weekend ceremony starts.  Any questions or to schedule your pre-Kambo session, contact me.

Rapé and Mapacho

Kambo and Ayahuasca

Kambo and Ayahuasca

Carlos giving hapé; sananga; Carlos blosing mapacho

Rapé or Hapé, pronounced "ha-pay", is shamanic snuff used by indigenous tribes of the Amazon for thousands of years to heighten awareness to the tribe people, enhancing their senses and to help cleanse the body and the soul.  Its main ingredient is mapacho "nicotina rustica" tobacco, which is stronger than common tobacco found in cigarettes but without the 7,000 harmful chemicals added to cigarettes. Indigenous people mix the tobacco with other blends of seeds, leaves and/or ashes from sacred trees of their region. It is a very long process to turn the blend into a fine powder and the process of how to make it is kept secret by those who make it. A great characteristic of the use of rapé is its grounding effects and the clarity of the mind. It is considered sacred medicine for many indigenous people.

Rapé has unique antibacterial properties helping the body to get rid of toxins and congestion. It is known to act as an anti depressant  and stimulant , increasing the blood flow to the brain, helping to clear the mind, ease negativity and psychological distress.

Rapé is commonly used in a ritualistic setting paying gratitude to the  men and woman who made the medicine, honoring their ancestors for maintaining the tradition over centuries and asking the spirit for guidance, protection and blessings.  The use of rapé  is intentional, practiced with respect  and authenticity.

Rapé is used in Kambo to help ground the person and facilitate the purge. Mapacho smoke is also used during a Kambo ceremony to cleanse the space and the  Kambo gates.

Sananga

Kambo and Ayahuasca

Sananga

Man receiving sananga

Sananga is a powerful plant medicine known for healing physical alignments, clearing the mind, and cleansing negative energies ( Panema). Sananga is the juice extracted from the roots and bark of the Tabernaemontana undulata shrub from the Amazonian region.  This medicine is considered to be an all-purpose remedy for indigenous tribes. A powerful medicine used to sharpen night vision and even help improve a broad range of ocular problems.  Tribe hunters use sananga for nighttime hunting.  As with Kambo, sananga is used by the hunters to enhance their perception and sharpness, intention, sense of smell, and endurance. Receiving sananga before your Kambo session can help preparing the body and the mind to receive Kambo. One drop per eye is enough. Most people report a strong burning and intense  pain sensation. Yet, these effects reside after a few minutes, and can be alleviated by focusing on your breathing and by visualizing how the pain removes your blocked energies and brings deep healing.

HOW IS KAMBO ADMINISTERED?

Burning of the Gates

The waxy secretion is applied to the skin after small superficial burns are made with a red-hot ember incense stick.  Only the top layer of the skin is gently burned. Traditionally, the points for both men and women are placed on their upper left arm, which is closest to the heart as Kambo circulates around the heart pumping blood through your body removing stagnant energy and blockages "Panema" which may be blocking you mentally, physically, emotionaly or spiritually. Energetically, the left side is also considered as the emotional side where as the right side, the body/physical side. If you feel called to receive the points in any other area, let me know. There are really no right or wrong places for the point placements, so it is a good idea to think about where you would like them ahead of time. For people susceptible to pain, the points are placed on the lower right leg which is farthest away from the heart. Please keep in mind that the area chosen must not be disturbed during the session, as the secretion must remain where it is placed to be effective.  The number of points used depends on the number of times the person has already received Kambo, the reason for the application, physical condition, and overall assessment by the practitioner based on her/his knowledge. Per IAKP standards, between three (3) points and nine (9) point max are suggested for the first time receiving Kambo. However, more is not necesarily better. A higher number of points will certainly be more intense, but it is not a requirement for Kambo to work better. You can have a powerful cleansing and detoxifying experience with less points. In my experience, three (3) to five (5) points are common and effective for most people on their first time. We will talk about the number of points to receive in detail during your pre-Kambo assessment.

SAPO: For people already familiar with Kambo, Sapo is the same application as Kambo but with the following key differences:

1. Sapo uses saliva to mix with the peptides in the frog’s secretion. This often results in a stronger, more intense experience.

2. A Tamishi vine or a bigger incense stick is used which results in less burns (2-3- gates max.) instead of multiple, smaller gates (3 or more) for a targeted, concentrated application.

3. Sapo is traditionally applied to the shoulder/ upper arm for the best application to the bloodstream.

4. Traditionally, Sapo is done on an empty stomach with little or no water for a deeper experience. You are required to stay hydrated prior to your session without over-hydrating. Something important to consider is that Sapo without drinking water may not be ideal for everyone. Therefore, it is recommended to reduce water intake to a liter vs. the usual 1.5 to 2 liters of water with traditional Kambo.

5. Sapo is endured for 10-15 minutes instead of the 20- minutes for Kambo.

ABOUT YOUR KAMBO EXPERIENCE

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

A typical Kambo group ceremony lasts 3-4 hours (private sessions last about 2 hours). The time spent at the peak of the cleansing and purgative process can be as short as 10 minutes and as long as a couple of hours. Kambo is a very physical experience that involves a feeling of heat in the body usually, but not always,  followed by vomiting and sometimes evacuating from the intestines. This is caused by the bioactive peptides found in the Kambo secretion.

Once the Kambo is applied to the skin, it enters the body via the lymphatic system. A feeling of warmth immediately follows. The face, skin, and core of the body will feel the heat within. The heart will beat faster. Blood pressure will fall slightly. Some people experience ringing behind the ears, tingling sensation, shivers and dizziness, and few may experience fainting. Fainting may happen as the blood pressure drops rapidly for some people and it is temporary. I will be monitoring you throughout the entire process. So, breathe and relax into the experience. It is helpful to work with the breath: Inhale with love and trust, exhale, and surrender. It is a common experience that the throat will gently swell. This is normal. It will not swell shut. The face may also swell, what is commonly known as a frog face but it is temporary and it will return back to normal in time. Try to relax into the sensations and allow the ally of the Kambo Spirit to purify and fortify you.

After a few minutes or more, you may feel nauseous and purging may occur. You will have a bucket handy and you will purge into the bucket. You may also need to go to the bathroom. You will be assisted to do so.

 A Word About the Purge:

Many people associate Kambo with a lot of vomiting and going to the bathroom to  purge toxins and cleanse the body. Purging is a natural process in Kambo but it is not the primary goal of receiving Kambo. Enduring the intensity and energetic power of Kambo is the ultimate goal; sitting with the frog for 20-minutes, feeling the body and connecting deeper with the self.

Some people may feel the need to purge during their process while others don't or purge very little.  This is completely normal. Your water consumption will be monitored to assist with the purge if necessary.

After 20-minutes, the Kambo points will be removed from your body and the major part of your cleanse is over. Rest is important after your Kambo experience. Some people recover in 45 minutes while others make take up to 90 minutes or more.

The after effects of Kambo varies by individual. In general, people report more clarity and focus and some say they receive specific messages. Kambo works mostly to help reset and restore the body and heaviness, and dullness of body, mind and spirit. The benefits that many reports usually come in the days and weeks that follow. Many people report feeling very peaceful immediately after receiving Kambo and often the next day one feels amazing.

Contraindications

Kambo has no known detrimental side effects, so when it is responsibly administered, it is completely safe.  There are some people who should not take it; generally, it is not for you if you have, or have had in the past, any of the following conditions (This is not an exhaustive list):

· Heart bypass surgery.

· Enlarged heart.

· Implanted cardioverter defibrillators.

· Congestive heart disease.

· Excess fluid in the heart sack.

· Heart valve replacement surgery.

· Organ transplant.Active ulcers.

· Addison’s Disease.

· Crohn’s Disease/Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

· Brain hemorrhage.

· Blood clots.

· Serious mental health conditions, excluding depression, PTSD and anxiety.

· Lack the mental capacity to decide to take Kambo.

· Seriously low blood pressure that requires medication.

· Anyone recovering from a major surgical procedure.

· Chemotherapy or radiation treatments of less than 6 weeks prior or 6 weeks afterward.

* If you are asthmatic, be sure to bring your inhaler with you.

*Diabetics need to bring insulin, testing strips, and food.

CAUTIONS

· People taking dieting or sleeping supplements.

· Active drug or alcohol addiction.

· Do not do water- fast for 7 days before or after taking Kambo.

· Colonics, enemas, liver flushes, or any water-based detox or saunas should be avoided within 3 days before and after taking Kambo.

THIS IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE WATER ONLY FASTING YOU WILL DO 10-12-HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR SESSION (you can have water, but  just the necessary to quench your thirst, during this time).

About Water Intake

Drinking water is part of the traditional Kambo process to facilitate the purge caused by the interaction with some bio-peptides that target the digestive tract, contracting the soft muscles. Without the water, the Kambo process can be too intense and cause unecessary discomfort to some people. However, excessive water consumption can be dangerous to the participant.

Follow the preparation guideliness to get you ready for your session.

Hydrate well days before your Kambo.

Limit your water intake the day of your Kambo to just necessary to quench your thirst.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: I  WILL ASK YOU  HOW MUCH WATER HAVE YOU DRANK BEFORE YOUR SESSION.

PLEASE BE HONEST.  IF YOU LIE, YOU CAN DIE!

EXCESSIVE WATER INTAKE CAN CAUSE HYPONATREMIA, CAUSING THE SODIUM IN YOUR BLOOD TO BECOME DILUTED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, YOUR BODY'S WATER LEVEL RISE, AND YOUR CELLS BEGIN TO SWELL. THE SWELLLING CAN BE POTENTIALLY LIFE-THREATENING*

IF YOU HAVE DRANK EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF WATER PRIOR TO YOUR SESSION, FOR YOUR SAFETY, I RESERVE THE RIGHT NOT TO SERVE YOU. YOUR SAFETY IS MY PRIORITY.

* Source: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hyponatremia/symptoms-causes/syc-20373711

You and I will sit down and discuss your goals for this session, number of points and how much water to drink. About 15 minutes before receiving Kambo, you  will be instructed to drink up to 1.5 liters of water.

It is STRONGLY ADVISED that you do not drink more than 4 liters of water during your session, including up to 2 hours before and after.

DO NOT consume alcohol or other recreational substances 24-48 hours before or after your Kambo session.

PREPARING FOR YOUR KAMBO CEREMONY

The Days Before (2-3 prior): Although there isn't a specific diet requirement pre-Kambo,  eat as clean as possible in the days leading up to your Kambo ceremony. Diminish or eliminate fried, heavy, over-processed and spicy food, alcohol, and other recreational drugs.

Drink plenty of water so that your tissues are hydrated. Adding electrolytes (non-sugar) and liquid minerals to your water will help prepare your body.

NO COLONICS, ENEMAS, LIVER FLUSHES, OR WATER FASTING* WITHIN 3 DAYS (BEFORE AND AFTER) OF TAKING KAMBO. No hot tubs or saunas 1 day before. They disrupt your electrolyte balance, which can pose a severe risk to your health.

*With the exception of the 10-12 hours you will fast, drinking only water, before your Kambo session.

Do not eat anything for 10-12 hours before the ceremony.

Day of Ceremony: The day of the ceremony you will fast from food. You should not have eaten for 10-12 hours prior. If you have low blood sugar, have a cup of non-caffeinated herbal infusion with honey. Bring a snack for after your session. You are permitted to drink water during the 12-hour fast but not excessively. Drink only what's necessary. You will be drinking  up to 1.5 liters of room temperature water within 15-minutes the Kambo is administered to you.

Don’t take any medications/supplements the morning of your session- you can take them after your session. Women who are menstruating- Kambo is a vasodilator and may cause increased flow for 24-36 hours. You may also get your period sooner than usual. Prepare to be there for at least 2 to 3 hours.  It is recommended to have the rest of your day be relaxed and process.

What to Bring: ( some of these items will be provided, check with me prior of coming to your session)

· Two liters of room temperature water (I will instruct you when to start drinking your water and how much; it is approximately 15 minutes before I place the Kambo on your gates).

· A blanket and pillow (Optional items: yoga mat)

· Layered clothing for hot and cold temperature fluctuations (and a change of clothing in case yours gets soiled during your session)

· A contact lens case with solution added (if you choose to receive Sananga eye drops and wear contact lenses)

· A hair band or clip if your hair is long

During: Meditating with the breath is the best preparation for a Kambo ceremony. Breathe and invite the spirit of the Kambo into you, exhale and surrender your ego, your weight, your toxicity. Set your intentions. If you seek emotional release, try to focus on the feeling and bring it out as much as you can.

AFTER CARE OF BURN POINTS

When the points begin to heal, try not to remove the scabs or scratch, as this might lead to longer-term or permanent scarring.  If they itch, you can apply some aloe vera which will also help the scabs dry out sooner.  I prefer to only use Dragon’s Blood which I apply to the points.

Try to keep the area dry, except for bathing/showering.  Keep abrasive clothing fabrics away from the area for about one week. The small burns will usually heal and fade with time, though it is important to understand that some types of skin will continue to show small dots months later.  Many people see their Kambo scars as a badge of honor for going through this powerful experience.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

Stay off alcohol and recreational drugs for at least 24 hours after your session.
No sweat lodges the week before. No water fasting, liver flushes, enemas, or colonics 3 days before. No hot tubs or saunas 1 day before. They disrupt your electrolyte balance, which can pose a severe risk to your health.

It’s recommended to be gentle with yourself in the days following your experience, since you may be more sensitive. It’s good to spend time with yourself and connect with the spirit of Kambo, to receive any messages or insights. Spending quiet time with yourself in nature, going for walks, journaling, taking baths, meditating and such can be helpful in your integration.

Emotions from the past can surface and will need to be worked through in order to be released. It’s recommended to have friends, loved ones, coaches, and counselors to help support you in your integration. Be gentle with yourself for the first 72 hours after your Kambo session. There is much more happening in the energetic field during the hours after receiving Kambo. Some times you may feel energetic and eleated and other times more subdued, tired, even emotional. It gets better as the time passes, including any swelling ( Kambo frog face)  Remember to be kind with yourself. Its a great time to go inwards, nourish your body with rest and good , clean food. A great time to feel alive and give yourself some well deserve self love.
